The most prestigious celebration of songwriters and screen composers.

The Ivors with Amazon Music is among the most respected award ceremonies in music. Presented by The Ivors Academy, it celebrates the craft and exceptional achievements of songwriters and screen composers.

Winners receive an iconic Ivor Novello Award and join a roll call of greats, including Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Adele, RAYE, Stormzy, Cathy Dennis, Bruce Springsteen, Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, Dave, Sting and Joan Armatrading. Judged by songwriters and composers, for songwriters and composers, the awards recognise excellence in craft and creativity.

In its 70th edition, Ivor Novello Awards will be presented to honour songs and scores written by UK and Irish songwriters and composers, released in the UK in 2024, that demonstrate exceptional originality, skill and impact. Gift of the Academy Awards will be presented to honour sustained contributions to music and global achievements.

Rising Star Award with Amazon Music

The Rising Star Award with Amazon Music discovers, supports, and accelerates the careers of exceptional under-25 songwriters. Each songwriter receives an Ivor Novello Award nomination and tailored year-long support for their creativity and careers from Amazon Music and The Ivors Academy.

This year’s winner will be announced at the 70th edition of these iconic awards on Thursday 22 May 2025.

Past winners are Master Peace, Victoria Canal, Naomi Kimpenu, Willow Kayne, and Mysie.

How are The Ivors judged?

The nominated award categories are judged by panels of established songwriters and screen composers.

PRS for Music Most Performed Work is a statistical category based on data held by PRS.

Gift of the Academy Awards are chosen by the Awards Committee of songwriters and composers, a sub-committee of The Ivors Academy Board.

You can suggest a recipient for a Gift of the Academy Awards year-round. Suggest a recipient.

How can I enter?

Anyone can enter The Ivors, including songwriters and composers submitting their own work, as long as the entries meet the eligibility criteria.

Is The Ivors ceremony televised?

The Ivors ceremony is not broadcast on TV. 

Amazon Music provides a live behind-the-scenes livestream of the event, featuring red carpet interviews, backstage reactions from winners and exclusive performances. This coverage is available on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.

How can I attend?

Tickets are only available to purchase by individuals and organisations in the music industry. Due to high demand and limited availability, early booking is strongly recommended as the ceremony often sells out.

Information about tickets is added to our website approximately 12 weeks before the ceremony.

How can I apply for press accreditation?

Press accreditation space is limited, so verifiable members of the media should apply as early as possible to ivors@ldcommspr.uk.
